our impact
helping launch brighter futures
Not everyone has access to a financial education. Launch Okanagan offers programs to the most vulnerable in our community. Our work focuses primarily with youth, lower income individuals and families, people in recovery, single parents, and new Canadians.
Thanks to your support and over 16 community partners, we were able to offer 25 programs supporting 295 people last year.
what is financial literacy and why is it important?
Financial literacy means having the knowledge, the skills, and the confidence to make responsible financial decisions. Financial literacy is also about understanding how the financial system works, knowing about the financial products and services that would be useful to you, and knowing where to go for help.
The financial landscape is more complex than ever. This leaves people feeling vulnerable and concerned that they lack the skills, capacity and tools to manage their personal finances. We are changing that.
