How it works
The Matched Savings Program is a one-year program designed to help participants effectively manage their personal finances – while providing the opportunity to save for their future.
Saving money is built-in
Each participant saves $25 to $50 a month towards an approved asset such as;
- RESP for a child’s education
- Paying for continuing education
- Starting a small business
- Purchasing tools for a trade
$3 for every $1 saved!
The Matched Savings Program triples the savings efforts of participants – matching $3 for every $1 saved.
Your sponsorship can help change a life
For just $50 per month, your sponsorship goes towards:
- Delivering the educational component of the Matched Savings Program
- Matched Savings Grants – triples the savings efforts of participants allowing them to purchase a qualifying asset

what is matched savings
The Matched Savings Program helps those in our community earning less than a living wage to move forward in life. This program is designed to teach participants how to effectively manage their personal finances while providing the opportunity to build assets that will help them secure a stronger financial future.
how the matched savings program works
This program was designed as a 12-month money management course for participants to learn fundamentals like budgeting, saving, spending, and credit to help them make effective decisions about their personal finances.
Each participant in the program saves $25 to $50 a month towards an approved asset, such as;
- Starting a small business
- Paying for a course at college or university
- Purchasing tools for a trade
- Starting an RESP for their children’s future education

The Matched Savings Program triples the savings efforts of participants – matching $3 for every $1 saved. Participants save between $25 to 50 a month to build towards their goals and ensure their future success.
Matched dollars go towards the purchase of an approved asset to a maximum of $1,800.
